JATSS Payment (For Foreign Authors)

Article Application & Processing Fee   (Date of Update: 01/01/2026)

Dear Authors,

As of January 1, 2026, an article application and processing fee will be required for articles submitted for publication in Journal of Applied and Theoretıcal Social Sciences’a  (JATSS). Our journal's fee policy has been determined in accordance with the decision of the General Assembly of the Higher Education Council (YÖK) dated March 7, 2019, and the relevant letter from the Presidency of the Inter-University Council (ÜAK).

 The article processing fee for foreign authors submitting articles will be 35 USD (including VAT), starting in January 2026. After the payment receipt is received by the journal, an E-Invoice will be issued in the name of the corresponding author and sent electronically.

An Article Application & Process Charge  will be requested from all authors. However, authors from low-income countries who indicate financial hardship will be fully exempt from this fee. Waiver requests must be made at the time of submission and will not affect the editorial evaluation process.

During the application;

  1. The Manuscript, Copyright Transfer Agreement Form, and Authorship Scoring Form must be uploaded to the journal system by the corresponding author.
  2. The bank receipt, paid by the corresponding author, must also be uploaded to the journal system by the corresponding author.

Desk Review and the peer review process of submitted articles will only begin after the submission fee has been paid. The payment description must include the "full name of the corresponding author."

In the event that an article is rejected and/or not published as a result of the peer review process, the submission and processing fees paid for the article will not be refunded.
The OJS journal management system we use does not allow an article to be withdrawn by the author or editor once it has been sent for peer review, in order to prevent unfair use of the contributions made by reviewers and editors during the evaluation process. Authors should take this into consideration when making a withdrawal request. In such a case, if deemed appropriate by the Editor, the article may be rejected and returned to the author(s). Even in this situation, the submission and processing fees paid for the article will not be refunded.

This is because the expenses related to the manuscript are incurred independently of its publication. Therefore, the payment of the fee does not guarantee publication of the manuscript.

The journal provides free and electronic access to all articles via its website.
